Welcome to the Envato Famous Five! Join us as we take a look at five Envato items that have popped up in famous places. If you’d like to contribute head to our Envato Famous Five Submissions thread.

Firstly this week to an honorable mention.

ConvertPlug featured in Huffington Post

Earlier this year the Huffington Post ran a feature on BrainstormForce‘s CodeCanyon item, “ConvertPlug“, championing the product as the must-have plugin of 2016. It’s a fantastic testimonial from one of the biggest sites in the world, and a real coup for this Author.

Now onto today’s Famous Five and Uber has used an Envato item! The ride-sharing service has featured nikitsan‘s AudioJungle item, “Light Up” in a video promoting their Colombian version of uberPOOL, their carpooling service. Uber is one of the biggest and most well-known startups in the world, so this is a great association to have.

Ted Cruz 2016

His run for president may not have turned out so well, but Ted Cruz’s campaign website sure could’ve been a lot worse if it wasn’t using SeventhQueen‘s ThemeForest template “KLEO – Next level WordPress Theme“. With so much attention on his and his campaign over the last few months, this would’ve been sensational exposure for this Author’s item.

And, it’s not the first time a presidential candidate has used an Envato item either.

As highlighted in Envato Famous Five #7 Marco Rubio’s use of RockfordMedia‘s VideoHive item, “Two Boats Passing Near City Sunset” in his “Morning Again” campaign video stirred up controversy when it was discovered the footage was of Vancouver, Canada, not “America”. It was even mocked by Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and Stephen Colbert on The Late Show.

In-fact, Ted Cruz was previously featured in Envato Famous Five #5 as well, using Eria‘s AudioJungle track, “Imagine Us” in this video back in February.

London Has Fallen – Opening Credits

While it may not go down as one of the best films of all time…

“President Benjamin Asher needs two things: better security personnel and better scriptwriters.” – New York Times

…”London Has Fallen” gives us at least one thing to boast about, its use of UNVI‘s VideoHive item “Big Bro” in the title sequence. Although poorly reviewed, this blockbuster still did pretty well at the box office, generating over $194 million (U.S.), which means a lot of exposure for this humble Envato item.

Legacy Effects – Special Effects Reel

Legacy Effects has used AudioJungle item, “Journey of a Lifetime” by Author pmwa for their special effects reel. These folks are responsible for special effects in some of the most well-known movies of our time, having done everything from Jurassic Park to Iron Man. And, it’s not the first time they’ve popped up on the Famous Five either.

Back in Envato Famous Five #8 their “Building the Apatosaurus” video used AlexanderTomashevsky‘s AudioJungle item, “Battle Inspiration“, a video that has netted well over 2 million views on YouTube.

It’s good to see they keep coming back to our marketplace for more.

Great Plains Pictures – MILLIMETRE

And finally today to something beautiful. Dance channel, Great Plains Pictures has used Hramovsky‘s VideoHive item, “Ultimate Infographic HUD [300]” in their latest video. Meant to resemble the movements of robots, this piece is stunningly choreographed and has been viewed nearly 1 million times on Facebook. It’s an extremely elegant use of a great item.

And that’s it for this week’s famous five! Congratulations to all those featured in this week’s list!
