This HTML5 Video Player is ideal if you need to add a video player to your site. It does support video backgrounds and you can use either YouTube, Vimeo or self-hosted videos.

3. Simple BG – Easy Video Background (HTML5)

The Simple BG addon makes it very easy to create video backgrounds on your site. This script will the pick the best quality of video (either Youtube or native) to display in the background and also comes with a selection of control functions, such as pause, play, mute, and many more.

4. Full Width Background Gallery with Youtube Video (HTML5)

The Full Width Background Gallery plugin is an extended version of the Full Width Background Slider plugin, and offers the added option of using unlimited slides and also full-width Youtube video backgrounds.

5. BigVideo.js (HTML5)

BigVideo.js has been built on top of Video.js which is a popular HTML5 video library. You can add different video types as a fallback, which is perfect for large browser support.

If you’re looking for a quick way of getting started with this plugin, you could follow along with this Codrops tutorial.

6. Vide (jQuery)

Vide behaves in a similar manner as BigVideo.js above. The background video is appended onto the page through a div with code written in jQuery. This plugin also offers an optional poster image which can be used as a preloader while the video buffers.

7. jQuery Tubular (jQuery)

Tubular is another jQuery video background plugin that pulls video data straight from YouTube. This is perfect if you don’t want to host the video yourself in order to save bandwidth. If you’re curious to see how this works check out the Tubular live demo.

We hope you found what you needed to add a video background to your website on this list. For more plugins, visit Envato's CodeCanyon.
